The Milans credit their success as artists to their faith. They receive their inspiration by the Spirit of God and feel called to the creative process. God, they believe, is the source for their vision they need as artists.
The Milans create their paintings together. Through years of studying and creating art, they have developed many innovative techniques, the most significant of which is the ability to work together. Throughout the process, their pieces are formed through many layers of paint and even more critiques. The outcomes are rich compositions layered with whimsical imagery, hints of narrative and aggressive pleasing colors.
The Milans have had a long love affair with the country of Greece. In the past, they have set up temporary studios in the beautiful coastal cities of Kavala and Thessaloniki which have given them inspiration that is reflected in their artwork and life. A permanent studio in Greece is a future goal for the couple.
John and Elli met in Honolulu, Hawaii in high school. They studied painting from Savannah College of Art and Design and then moved to Athens Georgia where they received their BFA from the University of Georgia.
Today the Milans and their four children live in Queen Creek Arizona. They are internationally collected, with a year round, prolific, art studio, and are in high demand.
