Chiarograph on Black Paper
Image Dimensions: 15 x 23 Paper Dimensions: 20 x 28

About the Chiarograph:
The Chiarograph is a fusion of traditional printmaking and the latest digital technology. The characteristic of the Chiarograph medium is unique: while each one has a pattern or part of an image that is repeated, the individual hand painting preparation results in a one of a kind print. Thus, no two prints are identical. The beauty of this media is also in its spontaneity and its combination of printmaking and painting.

Each piece in these black paper limited editions is carefully hand created using a proprietary technique called Chiarography (pronounced keer-ography) which requires an intensive amount of hand preparation and attention. First, each sheet of 485 gram, archival, acid-free black paper undergoes multiple hand brushed basecoats of various medias, which will become the printed area. This hand application of basecoats create the brush stroke texture behind the printed image and ensures each piece in the edition is unique, as no two pieces will ever have the same hand painted undercoat.

Using archival, pigmented inks, the chiarograph printing process identifies the undercoat and prints only on the hand painted area thereby applying the artwork over the texture, and out to the edges of the brushwork. This creates a uniquely organic and whimsical effect to the outer border of each image. Each work of art is then hand-embellished by Harrison Ellenshaw before undergoing three separate coats of hand applied varnish which not only provides UV protection to the image, but results in a luminous sheen to the finish. Finally, Harrison Ellenshaw creates a hand drawn illustration of a film icon specifically for each collection.

Under supervision of Harrison Ellenshaw, these elegant collaborations are signed with Peter Ellenshaw’s official estate signature and personally hand signed by Harrison Ellenshaw, before they are individually hand numbered and approved for sale to the public.

New C. Lewis Koi Fish Originals!

Wednesday, March 28th, 2012

Teri Galleries greatly appreciates the arrival of new C. Lewis Koi Fish Originals. Feast your eyes upon the beauty of nature, the way only C. Lewis knows how to make it come alive in front of your eyes.

A Chinese artist called C. Lewis, Chen Tai-yu was born in 1963. The name C. Lewis was inspired by the pseudonym name of Lewis Carroll who was an American novelist, inventor, teacher and photographer. Lewis (Chen) felt a need to adopt a name that would create a more universal interest in his work. From 1982 to 1985, he studied in the National Central Fine Art Institute in Guangdong. After his graduation, C. Lewis started his career as a professional artist. He is currently holding an associate membership at the National Chinese Artist Association & Guangzhou Graduate School of Oil Painting.

The Vineyards began as a series of painting color from nature or painting light with light itself. The metamorphosis of colored light across vast distances, the reflections of light on the grass, flowers, and trees with enormous skill.Lewis uses his brush like the wind, feeling the movement of this surroundings. This subject soon led to painting the movement in local koi ponds and still life with vegetables and pottery that seem to breathe on the canvas. His artworks have won National acclaim. He has exhibited in Singapore, Hong Kong, Los Angeles and Chicago.

We Have New Milo Originals!

Wednesday, February 1st, 2012

First we are happy to announce that Milo has been accepted as an Associate member of American Women Artists. This non-profit organization is sponsored by some of the well known names in the art world such as The American Art Collector, Fine Art Connoisseur, Faso, and the Scottsdale Artists School. As always we are not surprised by her achievements, but we are always very proud of her.

Her new pieces are not only full of texture, but are a wonderful reflection of her personality, which is both playful and motivated.
They give the viewer a picture to a story that the viewer is left to create. In “Ladies Choice” the female cardinal’s distant gaze gives no hint to whom she is going to select. It is left up to us to judge, debate, and choose. It is curious that the “Raven’s” gaze is directed above him. As a scavenger bird, one has to wonder what does he see above him that has caused him to have such an intense stare?

The pieces are original oils and decoupage, which give them a wonderful almost aged texture. Check them out, as well as all of her other amazing works of art!

Exclusive New Toby Bluth Disney Artwork

Tuesday, January 17th, 2012

Teri Galleries is proud to announce new Disney Originals by Disney artist Toby Bluth. These originals are exclusive to Teri Galleries. Walt Disney was a man who had an amazing ability to inspire other people to do remarkable creative achievements. Toby Bluth happens to be one of those shining gems of talent that to this day draws inspiration from the life and work of Walt Disney. “Creating the moment that you think you saw…” is how Toby Bluth describes his approach in conceiving each one of his watercolor masterpieces. Believing that how one remembers a film is often different from the actual film itself, Toby paints what he perceives as the collective memory of a film experience and taps into the emotional essence of the story. These new Disney Originals, exclusive to Teri Galleries, are indeed great additions to Bluth’s masterful collection of watercolor memories of great Disney movies.

“A Friend to a Fellow” is a 11.5 x 14.5 amazing watercolor on Arches paper.

“Little Hiawatha” is a 12 x 14.75 beautiful watercolor on Arches paper.

We here at Teri Galleries are greatly appreciative to be able to offer you these gorgeous Disney Originals by Toby Bluth to you.

New Originals Available from Disney Artist Rodel Gonzalez!

Thursday, January 20th, 2011

Teri Galleries, Ltd. is very happy to present new originals from acclaimed Disney artist Rodel Gonzalez. When asked about his latest works for the Disney Fine Art portfolio, Rodel has said, “Having the opportunity to create Disney paintings is such a treat because Disney was definitely part of my childhood. I remember watching my first Disney films “Bambi” and “Snow White” and ever since I’ve been mesmerized by the succeeding Disney movies I’ve seen. I believe a painting is a mirror of the painter’s understanding of an insight he has. The Disney paintings each involved such a strong concept that every brushstroke was a joyful anticipation of the finished product. The energy was very strong therefore my intentions were sure and refined. I would say that there was a lot of grace present on every painting”.

Rodel Gonzalez is an artist of inspirational talents with a keen eye for seeing the beauty in the commonplace and grace in the ordinary. His story starts with an initiation into the art business through the tutelage of his father, Rick Gonzalez and grandfather, Felix Gonzalez, at the age of 9. “Growing up my father would always tells me to not be intimidated by the paint and be 100 % sure about my intentions on my first stroke at the canvas” says Rodel. His explorations of color, form, and composition ignited a lifelong passion for the arts in its many forms.

He studied at the University of Santo Tomas, with a major in painting and went on to earn a degree in Interior Design from the Philippines School of Interior Design. This early training required perseverance in acquiring the skills and discipline that would prove to serve him well in future endeavors on his path to artistic freedom.
