We at Teri Galleries, Ltd. are very happy to present the art and photography of brand new addition Holly M. Chos. For the first time ever Teri Galleries, Ltd. is presenting photography and after viewing Holly’s pieces you’ll see why we started with her! Her work creates an ominous mood and feelings of raw emotion with dark contrasts and genuine New Orleans subject matter. Her honest viewing of post Katrina decay along with the passing of time gives a history of our fair city with subjects that range from an abandoned church to the childhood memories at “Storybook Village”. The pictures of the unique New Orleans’ graveyards show Holly’s eye for beauty in places where the usual person couldn’t see. Holly also is a very accomplished artist as well and shows here pieces on the site as well. We are very fortunate to have Holly on board here at Teri Galleries, Ltd.
..:: Holly is available for commissions. Interested collectors should contact Sandy Kasten of Teri Galleries at 504-887-8588 or email info@terigalleries.com.

Teri Galleries, Ltd. In Metairie, LA announced today that it will hold a silent auction of two William Hemmerling originals with 15% of proceeds being donated to the Cancer Association of Greater New Orleans (CAGNO.org).
William Hemmerling, who passed away after his own battle with cancer in May of this year, is a world-renowned Southern Folk artist who resided in New Orleans. His African American “Sweet Olive” series captures the essence of old-time southern life and is notably his most popular thematic concept.
Teri Galleries will be auctioning one of the very first original “Sweet Olive” paintings created by Hemmerling, as well as a rare Native American original painted by Hemmerling in the early 1990’s. Both originals are in immaculate condition and are considered highly collectible. “As a breast cancer survivor, I really wanted to do something outstanding to contribute to breast cancer awareness month,” states Sandy Kasten, owner of Teri Galleries, Ltd. “The opportunity to use these rare paintings to raise funds for the Cancer Association of Greater New Orleans and their educational efforts means a great deal to me and my family. I know that William would be honored to be selected for the silent auction.”
The auction will be held online at www.TeriGalleries.com beginning Tuesday, October 20th and closing at 6pm CST on Saturday, October 24th. The highest bid for each piece will be announced immediately upon close of the auction. Bids will also be accepted via telephone by calling Teri Galleries at 504-887-8588.
“In honor of breast cancer awareness month, I encourage bidders to open their hearts and bid aggressively,” comments Sandy Kasten. “These oils are well worth the investment and are among the very few remaining Hemmerling originals available on the market. I envy whomever wins these beautiful works.”
Teri Galleries, Ltd. will also donate 10% of all sales within the gallery to CAGNO during the month of October. To learn more about Teri Galleries or to participate in the silent auction, please visit www.TeriGalleries.com or call 504-887-8588.
Teri Galleries, Ltd. introduces artist…GOLI!
September 24th, 2009“Her paintings mediate the tensions that are symptomatic of contemporary art. Thewarmand luminescent color palette, the mysterious forms lead to unified sense of energies often lacking in post-modernism.

Beauty of Nature
Her paintings are less about thinking and more about intriguing energies from which they have arisen.”
Goli Mahallati’s original acrylics and limited edition prints on canvas or board, often depict aspects of humanity. Her images of individuals alone and in communal groups are stirring. The deeper felt reaction to her work goes beyond any type of provincial artistic genre and strikes at the elemental state of the human condition, sometimes bound together in support and love, and at other times isolated, either alone or in a crowd.

New Orleans’ Artist, Matt Litchliter Captures The Energy of New Orleans
August 7th, 2009Capturing the vibrant essence and movement of a sleepless city is the personal challenge of emerging artist Matt Litchliter. “My intention is to go beyond what you would typically see in a painting about the city of New Orleans and its culture. I want to show the feeling one would get walking down the streets, communing with the ghosts, listening to the music. I want to capture the city’s vibrant music with paint, as it moves through the skin of the performer and onto the instrument and into the surrounding air.”
A New Orleans’ native, Matt’s creative talents were recognized and encouraged early in his life. While attending Southeastern Louisiana University under the Fine Arts program, Matt expanded his notions of creative design and worked to challenge his conceptual processes by experimenting with mixed media, assemblage and found object wall sculpture. “I love working with different textural mediums that alter the experience of my work…plywood, fabric, paper and canvas, each conveys its own set of principles and adds flavor to my creative process.”
Each swirl of the brush captures movement, energy and life within Matt’s recent series of New Orleans’ jazz musicians. The viewer is enticed to observe the subtle flutter of the hands as they pass over the instrument as well as the expression of raw energy emitting from each figure. To add to the overall emotion of his work, Matt many times utilizes found objects salvaged from around the city of New Orleans to add emphasis and additional texture to each piece. “I want to show the resilience of this great city; its triumph and its flaws. It’s an emotion and energy that permeates the core of us all.”
